Professor Tanaka Eiji, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, received an invitation from the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences with which Tokushima University has concluded an inter-university exchange agreement and conducted the practical training using an articulator for multi-bracket treatment for trainees in the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences from August 13th to August 18th, 2024.
The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics has accepted four graduates from the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences as postgraduate students. Three of them have already completed their studies and returned to Mongolia where they are involved in running the Department of Orthodontics and nurturing the next generation of orthodontics.
Last year, Professor Tanaka Eiji also conducted a similar training session in Mongolia and 32 trainees participated. This year, the training was changed to focus more on the oral conditions of Mongolians and 37 trainees took the course.
The demand for orthodontics in Mongolia is expected to continue to increase in the future. As part of the exchange program between the two universities, they will continue to deepen the ties by conducting educational and training activities related to clinical orthodontics.
