Thanks to the technology transfer of research results (development and diversified use of land-based seaweed farming technology) by Associate Professor Oka Naohiro of the Bio-Innovation Research Center, the “Akane-so,” commercialized by Seaweed Lab Co., Ltd., has become the first land-based seaweed farmed product in Japan to receive the ”Organic Seaweed JAS Certification.”

The ”Akane-sou,” commonly known as the “Mirin-sou,” is a seaweed also known as the ruby ??of the sea, and contains a lot of iron. It has been adopted as a gift in return for hometown tax donations in Kaiyo Town, Kaifu County, Tokushima Prefecture, and has also been certified as a ”Tokushima Special Brand.” Additionally, sales will begin at AEON and AEON STYLE stores in Tokyo, Chugoku region and Shikoku region from late August.
