The 27th Science Experience Festival in Tokushima Was Held

2024/8/22

The 27th Science Experience Festival in Tokushima was held at the Faculty of Science and Technology for two days on August 3rd and 4th, 2024.

This festival allows children to actually take part in science experiments and experience the fun and wonder of science and has become a regular summer holiday event in the region.

This time, the advance registration was required (two sessions; morning and afternoon), and participants were able to experience three science experiments over two hours. Nearly 1,500 people, including accompanying persons, attended the event.

We received 2,411 applications for the event, which had a capacity of 804 participants. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone who was unable to attend.

At each booth, children were able to experience wonder at natural phenomena and mysterious chemical reactions through experiments and games, and instructors gave easy-to-understand explanations to the children about the wonders that science creates.

Also, this time, the "Bamblue" (a combined word of "bamboo" and "blue"), the aircraft used in the "Tori-Ningen Contest" which means the “Birdman Contest” in which a student team from Tokushima University participated on July 27th and 28th was displayed. The children were very interested, wanting to touch the aircraft and even get in the cockpit, and there was a long line to take commemorative photos with the aircraft.

Many of the children who participated this time said, "It was a lot of fun. I definitely want to participate in the festival again next year." The Faculty of Science and Technology will continue to aim for further development in the future and will continue to come up with new ideas to hold the festival.

Thank you very much to everyone who came in the sweltering heat.
