The Faculty of Engineering of Tokushima University celebrated its 100th anniversary in October 2022, and invited the President of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Melaka to the 100th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony of Faculty of Engineering, Tokushima University held on May 14, 2023.
On the following day, Dr. Jia-Yush Yen, President of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Massila Kamalrudin, the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka and her delegation paid a courtesy visit to President Kawamura.

Tokushima University's Faculty of Engineering and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology concluded an interdepartmental exchange agreement with the Institute of Technology and Science (current Graduate School of Technology, Industrial and Social Sciences) in September 2011, which was followed by the introduction of the Double Degree Program. In 2014, The University of Tokushima Education and Research Center at Taiwan Tech was established at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and the two universities have been actively engaged in student exchange.
During the courtesy visit, the two universities discussed the continuation and development of Joint Research Projects between the Faculty of Science and Technology and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and promised to further strengthen the ties between the two universities.
It is hoped that this courtesy visit will serve as a catalyst for more active exchange of students and researchers between Tokushima University and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.

Courtesy visit by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka
Tokushima University's Faculty of Engineering and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka signed an interdepartmental exchange agreement with the Faculty of Engineering (current Faculty of Science and Technology) in January 2013, and introduced a double degree program in October of the same year. In September 2014, an inter-university agreement was also signed to further develop exchanges between the two universities, and the University of Tokushima-Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka Academic Center (TMAC) was established at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka to more actively exchange students.
During her visit, Vice Chancellor Massila expressed her appreciation for the continued active exchange with Tokushima University during the COVID-19 pandemic, and expressed her hope that the two universities will continue to work together to further develop student exchange and collaboration in the future.
President Kawamura also informed Chancellor Massila that he would like to deepen exchanges between the two universities in the area of SDGs initiatives, particularly in the areas of disaster prevention and the environment, and to develop this into a core collaboration between the two universities.
It is hoped that this courtesy visit will serve as a springboard for the Study Abroad First Step Program in Malaysia, which will begin on August 22 this year, and for further exchanges between Tokushima University and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka students and researchers.
