On July 22, the 2018 Tokushima Prefecture Japanese Speech Contest for Foreign Nationals was held. The speech contest is held every year around July, and this time 13 foreign nationals from eight countries took part.
Dolgorsuren Enkh-Amgalan of Mongolia from Tokushima University Graduate School of Medical Sciences spoke on the kindness of the Japanese he experienced while living away from home and raising children, and received the Prize for Effort.
From the Naruto University of Education, Emelue Elizabeth Ugochi (Nigeria) who studied on the Japanese language training course of the Tokushima University International Center until March 2018, spoke on the importance of effort in learning Japanese, while mentioning various episodes that she experienced in Japan. She won the Award for Particular Excellence.
